Here’s what I love about the location — you’re actually within walking distance of San Pedro’s main strip, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night party noise. The golf cart ride into town takes maybe five minutes, and trust me, you’ll want to rent one of those carts because that’s how everyone gets around here. Being right on the water means you can easily book diving trips, snorkeling excursions, or fishing charters without the hassle of getting transported to different marinas. The fact that recent guests rated the location 9.2 out of 10 really shows — it’s that sweet spot between accessibility and tranquility.

The Accommodations

The rooms aren’t going to blow you away with high-end finishes, but they’re comfortable and clean with that breezy Caribbean feel you’re hoping for. Most have water views, and honestly, waking up to see boats bobbing in the marina never gets old. The air conditioning works well — which matters more than you might think in Belize’s humidity. The restaurant situation here is pretty solid, though you’ll definitely want to venture into town for variety during your stay. The on-site dining focuses on fresh seafood — which makes sense given you’re literally surrounded by fishing boats. I mean, the lobster and conch are about as fresh as you’re going to find anywhere. The bar area becomes the social hub in the evenings, and it’s where you’ll end up chatting with other travelers and maybe some of the local boat captains. There’s something about the whole yacht club atmosphere that just encourages those kinds of conversations.

  Our studio suite had a spectacular view over looking the pool, palm trees and beautiful Caribbean Sea! We were very satisfied with the function of the room. Wi-Fi could use some improvement but overall very satisfied, definitely would stay again. Staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating.

  Beautiful property. Great central location for exploring shore and town. Produce stand next to it was great.

  All the units face the ocean, with private covered patio and the great sea breeze blowing in. The air is perfumed by the blooming plumeria in the center courtyard around the pool. The kitchen was very well equipped, including salt and pepper! The bed had nice linens and a comfortable topper and was larger than a usual king. Diving Adventures is right on the pier. It is quiet at night, and only 0.7 miles from the ferry dock and all the restaurants downtown (an easy stroll along the beachfront to get there!). There is a little produce stand just to the left of the entrance in the day for fruit and vegetables and a good size grocery store about a block and a half back toward downtown.

  Isla Bonita Yacht Club was the perfect location for us – just out of the San Pedro activity zone but close enough to walk to most everything. The room was very comfortable (minus the bed – it was too soft and should be replaced). Drinking water was provided, there was plenty of hot water for showers, there was an air conditioning unit in the bedroom and the living room. Staff were great and very friendly. The grounds staff is constantly working. The security staff at night were very friendly. The pool was convenient and close to all the rooms. There's an outdoor shower to rinse off salt water and snorkel/mask/fins or fishing equipment. The pier abutting the property hosts Belize Diving Adventures. We did two snorkel trips with them – very friendly and knowledgeable. You can snorkel right off the pier and see rays and fish.
