The property has this relaxed, almost residential vibe — like you’re staying at a friend’s really nice place rather than some massive resort complex. There’s free parking right on site, which might sound trivial until you realize how rare that is in this part of Belize.

The Accommodations

My room was actually more spacious than I anticipated, with this great balance of comfort and island charm. The furnishings feel thoughtfully chosen rather than just hotel-standard, and I mean, the views from most rooms are pretty spectacular — you’re looking out over the Caribbean, and it never gets old. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was, especially considering you’re still close enough to San Pedro’s action. The air conditioning works well (trust me, you’ll need it), and the beds are genuinely comfortable.

Location and Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Grand Caribe’s location — it’s perfectly positioned if you want that sweet spot between accessibility and tranquility. You’re far enough from San Pedro’s main strip to avoid the noise and crowds, but close enough that a quick golf cart ride gets you to all the restaurants and bars. I found myself walking along the beach to town sometimes, which takes maybe 20 minutes and gives you a nice feel for the island. The resort sits right on a beautiful stretch of beach that’s way less crowded than what you’ll find closer to the town center.

Dining and Activities

The breakfast situation here is actually quite good — they offer continental, American, and even breakfast to go options, which came in handy when I had an early snorkeling trip planned. The on-site restaurant serves solid food, though honestly, I found myself venturing into San Pedro for dinner most nights just to experience more of the local scene. What really impressed me was their spa — it’s not huge, but the treatments are professional and reasonably priced. The fitness center is basic but functional, and they can arrange fishing trips that are genuinely worth your time.

After spending several days here, I totally understand why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. There’s something about the pace here that just works — you can be as active or as relaxed as you want. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience without being overly attentive, and the property feels well-maintained without being stuffy. I think what sets Grand Caribe apart is that it delivers on the promise of a Caribbean vacation without the typical resort hassles. You get the amenities you need, the location is spot-on, and honestly, the value for what you’re getting is pretty solid for Belize.

  Our stay at Grand Caribe Resort in San Pedro, Belize was nothing short of exceptional. The spacious and impeccably designed suite we called home surpassed even our highest expectations. The resort’s amenities were top-notch, offering a variety of complimentary water activities like paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. We also appreciated the multiple pools, hot tub, and swim-up bar.
  The cherry on top was the resort's warm and friendly staff. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcome and at home. Overall, our experience at Grand Caribe was unforgettable, and we would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and relaxing tropical getaway.

  A great property with multiple pools so we had the option for peace and quiet in one of the six pools. The beach and the boat dock were steps away to snorkel, kayak or paddleboard. The staff were awesome and very helpful. They arranged our transportation to and from the airport, our golf cart rental and our snorkeling excursion. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were both delicious. The property was in a great part of the island. Quieter but with plenty of food options and close enough to get down to San Pedro for souvenir shopping.
