It’s not the Maldives, but there’s something genuinely special about having one of the few overwater experiences in Central America right here in Belize.

The design feels modern but not sterile, with large windows that frame the water views perfectly. What I really appreciated was the private deck attached to each unit; you can slip into the water directly from your room or just sit there with your morning coffee watching the boats head out to the reef. The glass floor panels are a nice touch too, though honestly, the water clarity varies depending on the weather.

Location and Getting Around

San Pedro works well as a base — it’s got that laid-back island vibe without feeling completely cut off from civilization. The resort provides complimentary parking, which is actually pretty valuable since many places in San Pedro charge for it. You’re close enough to walk into town for dinner (about 10 minutes along the beach), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the noise from the main strip. The couples who stay here seem to really get it — there’s something romantic about being surrounded by water while still having easy access to the island’s restaurants and dive shops.

The breakfast setup is more comprehensive than I expected for a smaller property. They do continental and American options, plus they’ll pack you a breakfast to go if you’re heading out early for diving or fishing — which, let’s be honest, is probably why you’re in Belize anyway. The on-site restaurant handles dinner well enough, though I’d recommend mixing it up with some of the local spots in town. The resort doesn’t have a full spa, but the overwater setting kind of makes up for that; there’s something inherently relaxing about being surrounded by water on three sides.

  Absolutely wonderful place to stay in Ambergris! So happy to find this gem! The property is so beautiful! Pretty close to the center and far from all the noises. Waterfront bungalows are just piece of paradise! Everything you can dream of – full kitchen, super comfy bed, glass floor where you can see all the fishes, private little pool to cool off after wonderful day. Very private, but if you want some socializing – restaurant area is amazing! Stuff is amazing and welcoming and friendly and super helpful! Planning to come back with kids for unbelievable time!

  EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! David was incredibly kind and checked on us throughout our stay. Karen was awesome with anything we needed during our time at Lina Point, helping us book excursions and rent a golf cart. Raymond was the greatest bartender of all time and makes the best mojito. The few meals we had at the resort were all delicious. The location is great, a 5-10 minute golf cart drive from downtown and a 40 minute golf cart drive to Secret Beach. There is a security gate to get into the community, and Lina Point is located at the very end down a pier so it is very quiet and peaceful. My wife and I had an amazing honeymoon in San Pedro thanks to the above-and-beyond staff at Lina Point. I will be recommending this place to everyone. Stay at Lina Point, you won't be disappointed!!
