The four-star property sits right on Barrier Reef Drive, which honestly couldn’t be a better spot in San Pedro. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the place that I really appreciated. It’s polished without trying too hard, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests arrive rather than just going through the motions.

The location is actually what sets this place apart from other hotels in San Pedro. Being on Barrier Reef Drive means you’re walking distance to pretty much everything that matters — the water taxi dock, local restaurants, and those little shops where you can grab snorkel gear or cold Belikin beers. I noticed couples seemed particularly drawn to the area (makes sense, since it’s got that romantic Caribbean vibe), and honestly, I can see why they’d rate it so highly. You can stroll to dinner without needing a golf cart, which is more convenient than you might think in Belize.

The Food Scene

Here’s where Holiday Hotel really surprised me — the food is legitimately excellent. I mean, hotel restaurants can be hit or miss, but this one actually gets it right. The kitchen clearly understands both local Belizean flavors and what international travelers are craving. I had some of the best conch fritters I’ve tried in Central America, and their fresh fish preparations were spot-on. You could easily eat here every night and not get bored, though with San Pedro’s restaurant scene right outside your door, you’ll probably want to explore a bit too.

Practical Perks

The free parking might not sound exciting, but trust me — in a place where most hotels charge for everything, it’s refreshing. Plus, if you’re planning day trips to the mainland or want to explore beyond San Pedro, having your rental car sorted without extra fees is actually pretty valuable. The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot of being comfortable without unnecessary frills. Clean, well-maintained, and with those little touches that show someone’s paying attention to details.

  It is said to be one of the oldest hotels in the town, and it was probably great in its best times – furniture, room planning, size of the space – all of that was so good. The location was so close to the ferry terminal and local market, street food, restaurants…and right in front of the sea! They cleaned the room, changed the towels and refilled the water bottle. We had our keys locked inside of the room and the owner kindly came to rescue us, even though it was already almost 10pm. Thank you!
