The parking situation is actually fantastic (and free, which is rare around here), so if you’re planning to rent a golf cart to explore the island, you’re all set. Couples seem to really love this spot — I can see why, since you get that romantic Caribbean vibe without feeling isolated from the action.

The Room Experience

My room was surprisingly spacious, with this great little seating area by the window where I ended up spending most mornings with coffee. The air conditioning works like a dream — crucial when you’re dealing with that humid Caribbean heat. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail: good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and outlets positioned where you’d actually want to use them. The decor is simple but thoughtful, with local artwork that doesn’t feel like generic hotel stuff.

The restaurant on-site serves solid local dishes, though I’ll be honest — I found myself eating out most nights just because San Pedro has so many great options within walking distance. Breakfast here is dependable, with fresh fruit that’s actually fresh and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around all day. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where guests actually talk to each other, which you don’t always get at hotels. I ended up getting some great local recommendations from other travelers hanging out by the front desk.

  The property is great. With a name like Belize Budget Suites my expectations were not high at all…The photos looked great but I have fallen for that before. The apartment was just great. All of the rooms have been individually decorated a theme and are spotlessly clean with everything you need…kitchen utensils, coffee machine, iron, washing up liquid…it's all there. The host is just lovely as are the other staff. The pre arrival information you receive is exceptional to make the most of your stay, as well as when you are there. The position is ideal with a hotel close by if you wish to use their facilities, local restaurants within minutes walk with the best food. We loved it
